L'Altro Service has rented audio, video and lighting equipment for events, live shows and TV production for over twenty years, out of San Giorgio a Cremano near Naples. The site was running on outdated WordPress and PHP versions: I rebuilt the interface with Elementor and updated everything underneath while leaving the URL structure untouched, so no rankings were lost.

the client
L'Altro Service, San Giorgio a Cremano (Naples), a client of the agency Fooody I work with. Audio, video and lighting for the show business for more than twenty years: conferences, weddings, trade fairs, concerts, tours, theatre and TV production, with equipment rental catalogues and a project archive that runs up to New Year's Eve in Piazza del Plebiscito and "L'Anno che Verrà" for Rai.
the problem
A site stuck on old WordPress and PHP versions is two problems in one: an attack surface left open, and plugins that will eventually stop working. But it is also the site that has been bringing in work for twenty years, with catalogues and project pages already indexed — a careless redesign would have wiped them out.

the approach
I treated the update and the redesign as two separate jobs on the same site. First I moved WordPress and PHP onto supported versions, checking that the existing plugins and catalogues survived the jump. Then I rebuilt the interface with Elementor while leaving the URL structure alone: same pages, same addresses, new look.
what I built
- Interface redesign with Elementor across every section of the site
- WordPress and PHP updated to supported versions, with the existing plugins verified
- Structure preserved across services (events, live shows, TV production), rental (audio, lighting and video catalogues), project archive and news
- URLs left unchanged, so already-ranking pages kept their indexing

the outcome
The site is live at laltroservice.it, on updated versions and with the same URL structure it had before the redesign: the project archive stayed reachable at the same addresses. Since then it has ranked consistently on the first page of Google for searches on its services: no specific query or position to cite here yet, but the signal is real.
